2:7 | Discipleship Groups

Childcare is available, but registration is needed each week. This study meets weekly on Thursdays from 7-9 pm and launches each semester..

The 2:7 Series is a training curriculum done in small groups at tables of couples, men, and women that provides discipleship while training and equipping you to disciple others. It starts with fundamental assurances and then continually promotes Biblical life and heart application toward spiritual maturity (2 Timothy 2:2). It is sometimes easy to approach studies as scholastic. Our prayer is for us to humbly grow in the Lord and that He would move in our hearts to continually affect how we live and think in every way.

Each of the 3 workbooks of the study is offered every semester (Spring, Summer, Fall) and is an 11-week course. Between each book, there is a 4-5 week break. The name is based on the Scripture reference Colossians 2:7 - the statement of the Apostle Paul to a New Testament church: "Rooted and built up in Him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with gratitude." What the apostle Paul, under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, expresses in this passage clearly defines the specific goals of this training:

  • For a Christian to be built up in Christ and strengthened (established) in their faith. This series of courses includes instruction in practical Bible study techniques, prayer, Scripture memory, fellowship, obedience, and tools to use in evangelism.
  • For a Christian to learn to overflow with gratitude in everyday life. The series will help an individual learn to experience and enjoy a stable and consistent Christian walk.
  • For a Christian to be taught (or instructed). The three books build upon the book before it and are designed to be completed in sequence.
